Since whitening is such a big topic amongst patients, we thought we would let everyone know about the innovative Pola Office system. Pola offers a few options to patients who are looking for an advanced Tooth Whitening product like Zoom!; the options being either self-applied home kit, or dentist applied.
Home Kits
For home kits, there are a couple of options that we offer: 1) poladay; 2) polanight. For poladay or polanight, we provide a kit that comes with a whitening gel best suited to alleviate the level of staining or discolouration of each individual’s case. We also make an impression of a patient’s teeth to develop a custom tray to accompany the take home kit. At home, patients simply need to follow the whitening instructions.
Polaoffice
At Alma Dental Centre, the pola procedure takes about an hour. We note the current shade of your teeth with you and then perform a dental cleaning. We apply a resin barrier to the gum areas surrounding the teeth to protect your gums from coming the peroxide gel. We then apply the hydrogen peroxide to each tooth and shine a special light on your teeth for about 8 – 10 mins, then suction away the gel from your teeth. We repeat this process 2 – 3 times for an optimal result.
After the teeth whitening procedure is done, we provide patients with some simple post whitening care instructions to keep your teeth looking their best for as long as possible. We found this video which is a little bit old, but does a great job of explaining the Home Kits or the Dental led procedure.
